Dandy Dandelion

You can look great and feel great with the benefits of dandelions!

Dandelions are more than annoying flowers that persistently pop up in your lawn; They offer an abundance of therapeutic value. From the root to the greens, this highly nutritious flowering plant is loaded with vitamins, minerals and fiber. Dandelion is rich in potent antioxidants, which is paramount for promoting good health.

The vast array of uses to treat a myriad of ailments has been practiced with herbal medicine for centuries. Native American and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practices used dandelions to support skin health, and to promote the body’s detoxification process.

Dandelion extract nourishes the skin while toning imbalanced skin. Thanks to its richness in Vitamins A, B and Vitamin E, dandelions support stronger and healthier hair.

If you're suffering from acne, dandelions may be the solution. Hormonal fluctuations may cause acne, glands secrete more oil, blocking pores and holding in toxins. The root of the dandelion aids in the removal of such trapped toxins.

“Dandelion root improves acne by improving liver function”. According to a 2009 University of Maryland study, “The liver works to clean blood and remove toxins from the body, but when it’s not working as well as it should, these toxins can build up and cause infection, or get secreted out of the skin instead of through the digestive system. Dandelion root is also high in vitamins A, B, C, and D as well as iron, potassium and zinc, all of which promote clear skin.”

So next time you see a Dandelion pop up in your lawn, don't spray roundup on it! Instead, eat, drink make an infusion... Also, watch my video on Instagram about how to make Dandelion Tea:
