Ok, Yall, Lets Talk About Heavy Metals…

Since the industrial revolution, humans have been exposed to heavy metals more than ever, we are constantly exposed to heavy metals through food, water, air and industrial chemicals. While Our bodies need some sort of essential mineral metals to function like, zinc, copper, chromium, iron, manganese, too much of it can be harmful too. Now, what I’m talking about here are the toxic amount of heavy metals we are being exposed to, on a daily basis, that can even set off the TSA Metal Detectors. The most common damaging heavy metals we are being exposed to are: arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury. So, if you ain’t eating organic honey, or from the source, guess what? You should be detoxing.

Now let’s add some drama here, literally...

If you watched the movie with Julia Roberts - Erin Brockovich, where she stumbles across medical records placed in real estate files, then she asks her boss and lawyer, Ed Masry (Albert Finney), to investigate. SPOILER ALERT she ends up finding that, there’s a cover-up involving a power company that contaminated water in a local community in California, which was causing devastating illnesses among its residents. Now, what they found out was, the power company was dumping in the water supply, a toxic waste none other than Hexavalent Chromium. The residents were developing diseases like cancer, thyroid cancer, lung cancer, including deaths in kids and adults. It is no surprise that big companies are hiding these things from us. This is a real story, and Erin is a real activist.

So, Heavy Metals are as real as it gets, it can be harmful to the cellular level, by killing one of the most important parts of your cells, the mitochondria, to add to this, other diseased related to heavy metal in our bodies includes Autism, IBS, Alzheimer’s. Other common side effects of consuming heavy metals are fatigue, recurrent headaches, autoimmune disease, thyroid issues, or adrenal functional, that interfere with insulin sensitivity, and suppress your immune system “Everyone has some level of heavy metal in their body, and they really are part of the underlying root cause of diseases,” says Wendy Myers, a functional diagnostic nutritionist.

Heavy Metals are absorbed in our soil from water and air, and accumulate in our crops, and we are putting directly on our tables, the most common foods that are absorbing heavy metals (as you probably know) are fish (mercury), Rice and Grains (arsenic), Leafy Greens (cadmium), and Unfiltered Water, besides that you are most likely to be consuming pills, pesticides like roundup and many more, but unfiltered water is a story for another time...
